‘The Skin Stapler’ Brings Neon-Lit, 80s Grindhouse Dread to PC

Prepare for a neon-soaked descent into 80s depravity. Assemble Entertainment and Tainted Pact Games have announced “The Skin Stapler,” a PSX-style grindhouse horror adventure slated for a 2026 release on Steam. For those brave enough to enter Carrion City early, a demo is available to download now.

Set in a fictitious 1980s metropolis where crime festers and morals rot, the game puts players in the worn-out shoes of Detective Dick Slater. As a veteran on the edge, Slater must hunt a serial killer who leaves behind grotesque displays and cryptic, distorted audio tapes that taunt the police. While Slater is the primary lead, players will also step into the shoes of other characters as the story spirals outward and the danger closes in.

Designed as a short, story-first experience dripping with dread, “The Skin Stapler” is built to be consumed in a single, terrifying sitting.
