To Celebrate 20 Years of the Live-Action ‘Scooby-Doo’ Movie You Can Rent Out the Mystery Machine on Airbnb

Mathew Lillard's Airbnb Mystery Machine

The live-action “Scooby-Doo” film starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, and Linda Cardellini turns 20 on Wednesday. To celebrate, Lillard, who played Shaggy in the film and has continued voicing the character for the animated series, is renting out the Mystery Machine on Airbnb.

The Mystery Machine accommodates two guests who will get to live like Shaggy and Scooby-Doo in the Mystery Machine, which will be parked in Malibu, CA, overlooking the beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the nearby mountains.

Upon arrival, you’ll receive a virtual greeting from Matthew Lillard before getting to enjoy a throwback to 2002, complete with:

  • Listening to the latest Sugar Ray album on a portable CD player, basking in the glow of a lava lamp, and donning Shaggy’s signature puka shell necklace
  • All-you-can-eat snacks and a selection to choose from for dinner, featuring all of Shaggy & Scooby’s favorite foods (like hot dogs and eggplant burgers)
  • Mystery games galore so you can put your whodunit-solving skills to the test
  • A late-night re-watch of “Scooby-Doo,” complete with popcorn, candy, and all the Scooby Snacks that your heart can desire
  • An outdoor setup with enough lounge seating and hammock space for you to vibe out, free from any monsters that might be lurking about
