On the heels of a successful reimagining of The Invisible Man, Universal and Blumhouse have started development on another reimagining of a classic Universal monster movie: Dracula.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Karyn Kusama is being tapped to direct with Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay writing the script. Blumhouse Productions will produce the film and is the driving force behind the new project. Kusama, Manfredi, and Hay have a history of collaborating on projects and have previously worked together on the films Destroyer, The Invitation, and Æon Flux.

Sources claim that like The Invisible Man, Dracula would get a modern take bringing the classic vampire into today’s world.
