Universal Horror Unleashed is bringing European folklore to the desert with the return of its “Krampus & Kin” holiday experience. Running on select dates from Nov. 19 through Jan. 10, 2027, the year-round haunted attraction in Las Vegas will blend seasonal festivities with classic holiday-horror lore.
This year’s event expands the lineup of wintry monsters alongside Krampus, introducing creatures from Alpine and Celtic traditions. Joining the Icelandic troll Grýla and the Greek Kallikantzaroi goblins are:
- Mari Lwyd: A skeletal Welsh horse spirit draped in tattered robes.
- Hans Trapp: A weathered woodland figure from Germanic stories, with the energy of a sinister Christmas hunter who’s been in the wilderness for decades.
- Frau Perchta: An ancient Alpine witch in a dark gown whose elegance masks her threatening power.
Nightly festivities feature a character procession through the venue, ending at a 22-foot black conifer tree for a dramatic lighting ceremony.
The event will also feature special themed photo ops with Krampus, Grýla, and the Kallikantzaroi.
Holiday Dining & Spirits
During the event, Jack’s Alley will be transformed into “Krampus Haus.” Visitors can purchase a Krampus-themed Dining Pass redeemable across four food stalls. Menu items include:
- The Chains of Krampus: A Bavarian-style pretzel, served with a side of blonde ale cheese fondue and a mustard dip.
- Naughty, Naughty: Smoked cranberry-glazed chicken drum pops, meant to represent the little legs of naughty children.
- Feast of the Holy Innards: Spiraled Feuerwurst sausage topped with fire-roasted pepper relish.
- Perchta’s Pie: A fried apple pie turnover drizzled with bourbon-spiced vanilla bean icing.
Seasonal bar offerings range from the “Devil’s Blood” gin cocktail and warm mulled “Krampus Punch” (Glühwein) to a multi-shot “Shot Ski” featuring whiskey and aquavit. Non-alcoholic options include the spice-infused “Nice List.”
Holiday Horror Zones
Beyond the central folklore lineup, Universal Horror Unleashed will also feature three transformed seasonal zones:
- Frost Bite: An icy realm ruled by the Vampire Frost Queen. New additions for 2026 include the Vampire Frost Stalker and Frost Guard, who roam among frostbitten victims.
- Kill Vault Video: Transformed for the holidays, this retro video rental shop will be packed with your favorite holiday-horror movies, featuring a sinister manager on the floor.
- Home for the Horrordays: Set in the prop graveyard, this idyllic ’90s holiday house has been overtaken by a pair of home-invading twins who turn a family holiday party into a freakish celebration.
