Xbox Reveals ‘Blair Witch’ Video Game at E3

It’s been nearly 20 years since we last saw a game based on The Blair Witch Project. In the early 2000s, Ritual Entertainment released a trilogy of games that explored the lore of the original film. Each chapter was dedicated to the important characters and locations from the film’s lore including Rustin Parr, Coffin Rock, and Elly Kedward. But today among a showcase of 60+ games during their E3 2019 briefing, Xbox announced an all-new Blair Watch video game from Bloober Team.

Simply titled “Blair Witch,” the game is a first-person story-driven psychological horror game based on the lore of the Blair Witch film. Taking place in 1996, you play as Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past who joins the search for a young boy who disappeared in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods.

“Blair Witch” comes to Xbox One and PC on August 30th, 2019.
