Board game and book publisher Stop the Killer has announced its next horror novel. Author Armando Muñoz will adapt the 1982 cult classic “Basket Case.”
“Basket Case” is a horror comedy that tells the story of Duane Bradley, a man seeking revenge on the doctors who separated him from his deformed conjoined twin brother, Belial, against their will. Duane keeps Belial hidden in a wicker basket, and together, they embark on a bloody rampage through New York City to take down those responsible for tearing them apart. Made on a shoestring budget, the film gained a cult following for its dark humor and outrageous gore.
A first edition hardcover printing of the “Basket Case” novelization will be made available for pre-order on Saturday and is expected to ship in October. The new novel, which costs $36.95, will feature a forward by “Basket Case” writer/director Frank Henenlotter, new and expanded scenes and kills based on the original motion picture, and cover artwork by Lynne Hansen.
Perks of pre-ordering the book include:
- First edition printing with dust jacket
- An autographed bookplate from author Armando Muñoz
- Collectible double-sided bookmark
This will be the fourth cult favorite horror film to get a novelization from Stop the Killer and Muñoz. Past films to get a novel tie-in include “My Bloody Valentine,” “Silent Night, Deadly Night,” and “Happy Birthday to Me.” For all the gory details on the “Basket Case” novel and to pre-order once available, visit https://www.stopthekiller.com/
