This week, Shout! Factory and its horror sub-brand, Scream Factory, announced several new physical media releases that will arrive later this year. Among the announced titles are “Gretel & Hansel,” “Orphan,” “The Island of Dr. Moreau,” “Dracula 2000,” “Killer Klowns from Outer Space,” and the animated feature films “The Addams Family” and “The Addams Family 2.”Gretel & HanselThe 2020 feature film “Gretel & Hansel” is coming to 4K UHD on May 21, 2024. Directed by Osgood Perkins (“The Blackcoat’s Daughter”), the film takes place in a distant fairy-tale countryside, where a young girl leads her little brother into a dark wood in a desperate search for food and work, only to find a nexus of relentless evil.No extras or specs for the film have been announced, but “Gretel & Hansel” 4K UHD is available for pre-order now on ShoutFactory.com.OrphanThe 2020 film “Orphan” is getting a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release on May 14. The psychological horror stars Isabelle Fuhrman (“The Hunger Games”) as the angelic Esther, a sweet, precocious child who is adopted by the loving Kate (Vera Farmiga, “The Conjuring” Universe) and John (Peter Sarsgaard, “The Batman”) following the loss of their baby.
