After making its theatrical debut in February with Fathom Entertainment, “Gale: Yellow Brick Road”āa dark, psychological reimagining of the Oz mythosāis now officially streaming exclusively on Chilling.
Rooted in the mythology of L. Frank Baum, but pushed into the shadows of psychological horror, the film reintroduces Oz as a realm of dread and grief. Directed by Daniel Alexander, the story shifts the focus to Emily Gale (ChloĆ« Crump), Dorothy’s granddaughter.
Emily is a young woman plagued by disjointed dreams and a mounting sense that her world is fracturing. Her search for answers leads her into a dark, magical realm that shouldn’t existāa version of Oz characterized by ruin and unspeakable tragedy.
The film stars Chloƫ Crump, Karen Swan, Laura Kay Bailey, Sarah Feltham, and Hariet Isidor.
“125 years ago, L. Frank Baum introduced the world to Dorothy Gale and the mysterious land of Oz, changing storytelling forever,” said Dane Petrali, Founder of Chilling Films. “With deep respect for the original source material, Chilling Films is proud to present a darker, new vision of that world with ‘Gale: Yellow Brick Road.’ In this film, we twist familiar faces, reimagine nostalgic elements, and introduce new characters that we believe audiences will grow to love.”
“Gale: The Yellow Brick Road” is available now on Chilling, a streaming platform built for horror fans, offering a growing library of terrifying films, award-winning horror and thriller novels, and immersive genre storytelling.
