Chilling Films and specialty distributor Fathom Entertainment have announced that “Gale: Yellow Brick Road,” a haunting reimagining of the Oz mythos that twists childhood nostalgia into pure cinematic terror, will have a one-night-only theatrical engagement on February 11, 2026.
Exclusive to theatres, “Gale: Yellow Brick Road” will also offer a nearly 5-minute bonus behind-the-scenes featurette segment that delves into the making of the film from director Daniel Alexander, exploring the reimagined World of Oz, its haunting atmosphere, and a mix of iconic and long-forgotten characters pulled from L. Frank Baum’s original novels, some of which have never appeared in live-action before.
The featurette also includes rare footage of the cast transforming into their roles, from detailed makeup sessions to the intricate costume process, offering a deeper look at the artistry and mythology behind the film.
Also revealed today was the vibrant and mysterious poster art from renowned horror film movie poster designer Creepy Duck Design.

“125 years ago, L. Frank Baum introduced the world to Dorothy Gale and the mysterious land of Oz, changing storytelling forever. With deep respect for the original source material, Chilling Films is proud to present a darker, new vision of that world with ‘Gale: Yellow Brick Road,'” said Dane Petrali, Founder of Chilling Films and Executive Producer of “Gale: Yellow Brick Road.” “In this film, we twist familiar faces, reimagine nostalgic elements, and introduce new characters that we believe audiences will grow to love. Gale: Yellow Brick Road is dark, thrilling, and heartfelt. Chilling is excited to share the first chapter of this story with the world.”
Decades after her return from Oz, Dorothy Gale, now an elderly woman, is tormented by memories of a world no one believes existed โ a world that has grown darker with time. Whispers of that land still haunt her dreams, and its nightmares have begun to reach beyond the yellow brick road into reality, threatening everything she holds dear. Her granddaughter, Emily, inherits the curse tied to her family’s name. Drawn by unanswered questions and visions she cannot explain, Emily finds herself pulled into the ruins of a realm once filled with wonder, now decayed and ruled by madness and horrors. There, she encounters the twisted remnants of familiar figures and discovers that the line between past and present, dream and reality, has been shattered. To escape, Emily must confront the terror that consumed Dorothy, and the truth about Oz โ and what really lies at the end of the yellow brick road.
The film is directed by Daniel Alexander and stars Chloรซ Crump, Karen Swan, Laura Kay Bailey, Sarah Feltham, and Hariet Isidor.
“Horror and fantasy remain amongst the most popular genre of Fathom theatrical engagements and moviegoers nationwide, and ‘Gale: Yellow Brick Road’ caters to both sets of fans in a big way,” said Ray Nutt, Chief Executive Officer for Fathom Entertainment. “Dark, disturbing, and eerily compelling, ‘Gale: Yellow Brick Road’ is a unique and compelling moviegoing experience fans will want to catch in theatres on February 11.”
