Liminal Road and Nuntius Games have officially announced Spooky Tales, an upcoming retro-horror anthology game that is channeling some serious “Tales from the Crypt” vibes.
Alongside the announcement, the teams dropped a debut trailer that perfectly sets the tone for a nostalgic, campy, yet genuinely unsettling experience.
In Spooky Tales, players are guided by a macabre, undead host possessing a characteristically twisted sense of humor. This sinister master of ceremonies will usher you through four short, self-contained horror stories—each requiring you to investigate strange events, survive terrifying encounters, and try to escape a grim fate.
To keep players on their toes, each segment dives into a completely different sub-genre of terror, including cosmic horror, Japanese body horror, mascot horror, and pulp terror, ensuring a fresh nightmare with every chapter.
With its blend of distinct horror flavors and a nostalgic framing device, Spooky Tales looks to be a love letter to classic horror format fanatics.
