“Hellraiser” composer Christopher Young, legendary practical effects artist Greg Punchatz, and All Time Low bassist Zack Merrick have officially joined the ensemble cast and creative team of “Who Put That There?,” an upcoming SAG horror-comedy mockumentary from writer-director Daniel Ruczko.
J.P. Manoux (“Community”) and Kenneth Miller (“Ransom Canyon”) are also set to star in the project, which marks Ruczko’s feature directorial debut.
The film follows Leon (Manoux), a meticulous contractor who works behind the scenes for serial killers. His job? Sourcing props, dressing locations, and ensuring every eerie object and ominous detail is perfectly in place before the bodies drop. Part horror film and part mockumentary, “Who Put That There?” takes a hilarious, dark look at the unglamorous logistics behind genre-style murder.
“‘Who Put That There?’ feels like the perfect debut feature for me because it blends cinematic horror with documentary and mockumentary language in a way that feels incredibly natural to how I think and create,” said Ruczko.
Bringing the film’s macabre world to life are two massive genre veterans. Christopher Young—whose iconic scores include “Hellraiser,” “Drag Me to Hell,” “Sinister,” and “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”—will compose the score. Meanwhile, Greg Punchatz, known for his definitive practical effects work on “RoboCop,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge,” and the iconic video game DOOM, is attached to handle the film’s practical effects.
Ruczko added, “Having Christopher Young involved honestly means the world to me. I grew up idolizing horror films from the ’80s and ’90s, including classics he scored, as well as one of my favorite horror films, Sinister. His soundtrack for that film was so unique, and it was actually close to what I do in my own electronic music… He really shaped the movie into what it is.”
The project is gearing up to launch a Kickstarter campaign on June 1, 2026, with additional cast and creative team announcements expected in the coming weeks.
“Who Put That There?” is being produced through Black Corridor Pictures, the production company founded by Ruczko and Miller.
