Capcom stole the spotlight at Summer Game Fest 2026, delivering the announcement survival horror fans have been begging for: Resident Evil: Code Veronica is finally getting the remake treatment. Officially titled Resident Evil Veronica, the reimagined classic is slated to drop in 2027.
The original 2000 classic marked the spectacular return of Resident Evil 2 heroine Claire Redfield. After being captured by Umbrella Special Forces while searching for her brother Chris in Paris, Claire is shipped off to the isolated, zombie-infested Rockfort Island—setting off a desperate fight for survival.
According to Capcom, the 2027 remake will preserve the essence of the original while introducing modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics built on Capcom’s RE Engine with a chilling level of realism designed to push survival horror to new heights.
Resident Evil Veronica will release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
