Asymmetrical Horror Game Last Summer Drops First Gameplay Trailer, Launches Kickstarter

Earlier this year, developer Silent Lamb Studio announced its upcoming asymmetrical horror game, Last Summer. Taking clear inspiration from classic slasher films, the game pits a masked killer—who chillingly arrives via a ghostly train—against a group of campers who must work together to survive.

Now, the studio has officially launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project, pairing the announcement with a first look at gameplay that offers a terrifying glimpse of cinematic kills and the blood-soaked nightmare awaiting at Silent Lamb Camp.

In Last Summer, what begins as one final carefree getaway quickly descends into terror. Arriving at Silent Lamb Camp ahead of the summer season, a group of friends spends their nights drinking, laughing, and sharing ghost stories around the campfire. But when the legend of a masked killer turns out to be real, their final night becomes a desperate fight for survival.

The gameplay will feel familiar for fans of the asymmetrical horror genre, but with its own distinct twists. As the killer, the objective is simple: stalk the shadows, isolate victims, and eliminate every last survivor. Killers can even unleash brutal execution moves designed to spread panic through the camp. As campers, players must work together, scavenge for resources, coordinate escape routes, and use unique character attributes to fight back when cornered.

With multiple paths to freedom and dynamic encounters, the developers promise that no two matches will play out the same way. Extensive cosmetic customization will also allow players to personalize their survivors.

“We’ve always loved the tension, atmosphere, and unpredictability of classic slasher movies, and Last Summer is our love letter to that genre,” said Tomasz Dutkiewicz, Studio Head at Silent Lamb Studio. “Launching on Kickstarter allows us to bring players into the process and build this nightmare together.”

The Last Summer Kickstarter campaign has a goal of over $153,000, with rewards ranging from having your name in the credits and a digital key for the game to exclusive cosmetics and the chance to be part of the creative process.

If the crowdfunding campaign hits its target, Silent Lamb Studio aims to launch Last Summer in early 2027. Head over to the official Last Summer Kickstarter campaign to track the campaign’s progress or secure your rewards.
