“The Rebrand,” the award-winning feature film from “MonsterDykë” director Kaye Adelaide, is officially heading exclusively to VOD platforms on July 21, 2026. Part psychological thriller and part dark comedy, the film takes sharp aim at influencer culture, performative authenticity, and the unsettling consequences of people-pleasing.
The story follows Nicole, an eight-months-pregnant videographer who is hired by Thistle and Blaire—a couple of high-profile lesbian lifestyle influencers—to film a high-stakes redemption documentary after they’ve been publicly canceled. However, after isolating herself with the couple to capture their “authentic” lives, Nicole quickly discovers that their carefully curated image masks something far more sinister.
Featuring an all-queer cast and crew, the film also offers a fresh and subversive take on LGBTQIA+ representation, using satire and suspense to explore questions of authenticity, exploitation, and who gets to control the narrative in an age of personal branding.
The film stars Andi E McQueen (“Accused”), Nancy Webb (“Messy Legends”), Naomi Silver-Vézina (“Uncle Billy Puts the Fun in Funeral”), and Tranna Wintour (“Queen of Canadian Comedy”)
Beneath its horror-comedy framework, “The Rebrand” taps into a surprisingly universal fear: the inability to say no. Through Nicole’s increasingly unsettling experience, the film examines over-accommodation, blurred boundaries, and the dangers of staying in situations long after every instinct says to leave.
“The Rebrand” will be available to rent or purchase on all major digital and VOD platforms starting Tuesday, July 21.
