Prime Video has unveiled the teaser trailer and release date for “Apocalypse Z: New World,” the action-packed sequel to “Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End”—one of Prime Video’s most-watched international Original films to date.
The horror feature will make its world premiere at the Sitges Film Festival on Oct. 10 before launching globally on Prime Video on Oct. 30 across more than 240 countries and territories.
Directed by returning filmmaker Carles Torrens (“Sky Rojo”), the installment expands the post-apocalyptic universe based on the best-selling novel series by Manel Loureiro.
Set in the Canary Islands—Europe’s final stronghold following the devastating outbreak of the TSJ virus—the story kicks off when a specialized team embarks on a high-stakes supply run to the mainland. Joining the group under suspicious pretenses is Roberto (Carlos Alcaide), whose arrival turns a dangerous mission into a desperate fight for survival against both hordes of the infected and fractured human loyalties.
The film brings back fan favorites, including Jose María Yazpik as former ally Pritchenko, Berta Vázquez as nurse Lucía, and Pedrito, the feline actor who won over audiences as Lúculo the cat in the first film.
Julia Martínez (“La promesa”), Mónica López (“Rapa”), Tamara Casellas (“Ama”), and Santiago Vaca Narvaja (“La sociedad de la nieve”), Axel Medrano (“Costa!!”), Pedro Hernández (“El 47”), Javier Godino (“Ventajas de viajar en tren”), Ujin Moreno, and Mario Mayo (“Os reviento”) round out the ensemble.
Produced by Nostromo Pictures, with Núria Valls and Adrián Guerra serving as executive producers, “Apocalypse Z: New World” will be available globally to Prime subscribers ahead of Halloween weekend.
