Spooky-music supergroup LVCRFT has tapped horror royalty for its eighth album, “Skeleton Sam’s Deadtime Stories.” The new album dropped at midnight on Oct. 1 across all digital platforms.
The 27-track release plays less like a traditional record and more like a retro late-night broadcast, blending new and returning songs with fake movie trailers, spooky skits, and a ‘ghost host.’ “Scream” icon Roger L. Jackson—the voice behind Ghostface—hosts the album, guiding listeners from the opening segment to the final sign-off.
Jackson is joined by a star-studded lineup of horror legends across the tracklist:
- John Kassir (the Cryptkeeper) appears on “Dead Heart Beat.”
- Robert Englund and Heather Langenkamp (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) team up with directors Mick Garris and Robert Rodriguez on “Scream For Halloween.”
- Bruce Campbell (“Evil Dead”) sees his vocals from past LVCRFT track “Exercise the Demons” resurrected on his self-named track, while Alyssa Sutherland (“Evil Dead Rise”) features on “The Other Side.”
- Ernie Hudson (“Ghostbusters”) tackles a Vincent Price-esque role on “Possessed” after making a skit appearance earlier in the lineup.
- David Dastmalchian (“Late Night with the Devil”) lends his voice to “Halloween Hop.”
- Jenna Davis (the voice of M3GAN) features on “Devil In My Rearview.”
- Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Yellowjackets”) sings the lead focus track “My Boo,” which premieres alongside a zombie-themed love story music video.
- Katharine Isabelle (“Ginger Snaps”) sings “Sweet Kristine,” and composer Christopher Young, who scored LVCRFT’s 2022 album “Scream Warriors,” closes out the album on “Cabinet Of Horrors.”
Additional appearances include Cindy Weintraub (“Humanoids from the Deep”), Cynthia Garris, Johnny Plague, and Monte Revolta.
