First ‘The Conjuring’ Universe Video Game Haunts Netflix This October

“The Conjuring” universe is officially expanding into interactive horror.

Netflix and developer Supermassive Games announced that The Conjuring: Unspoken, the long-running franchise’s first official video game entry, will launch exclusively on the streaming platform Oct. 13.

Developed by the studio behind narrative horror hits like Until Dawn and The Quarry, The Conjuring: Unspoken casts players as demonologist Francesca Noakes. Hired to investigate the historic, centuries-old Red Lion Inn, Noakes must aid the grieving Cooper family as terrifying paranormal phenomena begin to unfold—from missing dolls and self-playing music boxes to sinister whispers echoing in the dark.

Designed as a narrative-driven paranormal investigation, the title turns players’ smartphones into real-time ghost-hunting tools while the main game streams on screen.

Using their mobile devices as controllers, players can scan virtual rooms with an electromagnetic field reader, listen for spectral activity on a spirit box, or switch to an infrared camera to track cold spots indicative of otherworldly presences. Every dialogue choice and tactical decision shapes the story and determines the Cooper family’s fate.

To free the family, players must outwit two distinct supernatural threats: Vinea, a grief-feeding demon, and Florrie, a vengeful spirit rooted in English folklore.

Netflix says you don’t need to be familiar with “The Conjuring” films to enjoy the game, but notes that if you have it will enrich the experience and you might see some familiar faces.

The Conjuring: Unspoken arrives Oct. 13, exclusively on Netflix via the Games tab.
