Animated Feature ‘The Canterville Ghost’ Getting Physical Release This February

Back in December, Shout! Studios brought the animated take on the Oscar Wilde classic “The Canterville Ghost” to digital and VOD. On February 13, 2024, they’re bringing the animated feature to DVD and Digital.

“The Canterville Ghost” tells the story of a modern American family that moves to their recently purchased country home, Canterville Chase, in England, only to find it haunted by a ghost. Effectively, Sir Simon de Canterville (Stephen Fry) has been haunting the grounds of Canterville Chase successfully for over 300 years, but he meets his match, Virginia Otis (Emily Carey), when he tries to scare out the new arrivals.

The film boasts vibrant storytelling, a strong young female lead character, and important messages about curiosity, courage, friendship, love, and forgiveness.

Directed by Kim Burdon (“Stressed Eric”) and co-directed by Robert Chandler (“The Amazing Maurice”), “The Canterville Ghost” is the modern reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s popular literary classic and boasts a winning voice cast of Stephen Fry (“The Hobbit” films), Hugh Laurie (“House”), Freddie Highmore (“The Good Doctor”), Emily Carey (“Wonder Woman”), David Harewood (“The Flash”), Meera Syal (“Dr. Strange”), Miranda Hart (“Spy”) with Toby Jones (“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”) and Imelda Staunton (“Harry Potter” films).

The DVD release of “The Canterville Ghost” is available for pre-order now at ShoutFactory.com and will be available in stores at Walmart, other fine retailers, and digital entertainment platforms on February 13.
