As the Sun Sets, Dracula Comes to Life in this Incredible Billboard for BBC’s ‘Dracula’

The BBC took a unique approach to promote their new series “Dracula,” which premiered on BBC One in the UK on New Year’s Day and debuted on Netflix today. Using some interesting lighting tricks and a slew of stakes the BBC was able to make Dracula come to life on a billboard as the sun sets.

By day, the billboard looks like nothing more than a mass of wooden stakes, but as night falls, the shadows cast by the stakes start to reveal a silhouette of the infamous vampire.

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing these billboard installations anywhere here in the states, so unless you’re planning a trip to London or Birmingham the closest you’ll get to seeing these inventive advertisements is through the time-lapse video from AdWeek below.

“Dracula” is from the makers of “Sherlock,” and stars Claes Bang as Dracula in this brand-new series that revisits the story of Dracula and follows the notorious vampire as he makes his way from Transylvania to London in the late 1800’s. Check out the final trailer for the Netflix release below:
