The biggest Broadway Halloween event of the year is set to premiere live at Sony Hall and in the comfort of your own home via Broadway On Demand next week. Jay Armstrong Johnson’s annual Halloween concert-meets-party, “I Put a Spell on You: The Witches Era,” will be recorded live on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Sony Hall and then stream on Broadway On Demand at 7 pm Eastern on Saturday, October 28. The event will remain available for streaming for the following four days.

Produced by Johnson and Kampfire Films, the annual event is a spoof and tribute to the film “Hocus Pocus” and stars Johnson as Winifred Sanderson with Allison Godleski and Amanda Williams Ware as sisters Sarah and Mary. In their search to find beauty, youth, and immortality, the bewitching and beloved Sanderson Sisters return from the dead and gather their most famous friends to help them lure the children of New York. The show promises larger-than-life performances and choreography, over-the-top costumes and makeup, unmatched production value, and a healthy dose of Broadway magic.

Also appearing are Tony Award Nominee Justin Cooley (“Kimberly Akimbo”), Tony Award Nominee Robyn Hurder (“Moulin Rouge!”), recording artist Mila Jam, reigning SIX Queen Taylor Iman Jones (“The Devil Wears Prada”), RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15’s Marcia Marcia Marcia, Tomás Matos (“Fire Island”), Talia Suskauer (“Wicked”), and more spooky surprises!

Space for the live event is limited and is expected to, like last year, sell out. Tickets to the event start at just $60 and are available for purchase now. The Broadway On Demand stream will cost $35 and will be available at BroadwayOnDemand.com. The live event and on-demand stream will benefit the Ali Forney Center (AFC), a full-service organization protecting LGBTQ+ youth from the harms of homelessness.
