Cineverse will release the festival-favorite horror-comedy “Portal to Hell” on digital and Video-on-Demand platforms on Sept. 8.
Written and directed by Woody Bess, the film stars Trey Holland (“Battleship”) as a routine debt collector whose life unravels when a portal to hell opens inside his local laundromat. When a demon emerges, he’s pushed into a high-stakes scheme to save his neighbor—played by genre icon Keith David (“The Thing”)—from eternal damnation.
Romina D’ugo (“12 Monkeys”) and Richard Kind (“Inside Out”) round out the main cast.
“Portal to Hell” comes home following an impressive festival run that garnered buzz from showings at Slamdance Film Festival, Frightfest, Chattanooga Film Festival, Calgary Underground, and Vancouver Horror Show.
Holland, Bess, Lucas Ford and Tom Watts produced the feature. Executive producers include David, Dionne Lea, George Loucas, Matthew Dean Russell, John Frederick and Christina Jobe.
