Fresh off its 10th anniversary, Dead by Daylight is ramping up for a packed Halloween season. Developer Behaviour Interactive is rolling out weekly content drops throughout October, headlined by the arrival of the Diablo Collection featuring some of Sanctuary’s most fearsome faces.
Combined with a new Blighted look for Jason Voorhees, the return of the Haunted by Daylight in-game event, and a “Stranger Things” update, players have a terrifying lineup to navigate through November.
The seasonal terror kicked off on Oct. 1 with the annual Hallowed Blight Collection, bringing its signature mix of pustules, mutations, and orange serum to three Killers.
Iconic hockey-masked slasher Jason Voorhees, who joined the Fog earlier this year, receives his first Blight transformation, twisting the horror icon into a grotesque mutant. The Houndmaster and The Knight also receive new Blighted Outfits.
The month’s flagship update arrives Oct. 20 with the launch of the Diablo Collection. The crossover introduces six Outfits inspired by iconic characters and playable classes from Blizzard Entertainment’s dark fantasy franchise.
Leading the pack is Lilith, the Daughter of Hatred, available as a Visceral Outfit for The Artist. Designed specifically for the Fog, the skin maintains Lilith’s silhouette alongside custom menu animations, a unique Mori, and devilish aesthetic details.
Also making the leap between realms, Belial, The Lord of Lies, arrives in Dead by Daylight as an Outfit for The Dredge, turning its nightmarish form into a six-faced demon of deception. Mephisto rounds out the trio of Killer Cosmetics as an Outfit for The Nurse, pairing his imposing design with The Nurse’s supernatural elegance.
All three Outfits are Visceral or Ascended, and pull out all the stops with unique voice lines performed by the characters’ original Diablo voice actors, Caroline Faber, Ray Porter, and Steve Blum.
Survivors also receive class-inspired gear from Diablo IV. Zarina Kassir channels the arcane as the Sorceress, David King prepares for battle as the Barbarian, and Taurie Cain communes with the dead as the Necromancer.
On Oct. 13, the annual Haunted by Daylight event returns for a three-week run. This year’s iteration bathes the Realm in an ominous orange haze, reworking pumpkins, Rifts, and environmental visuals.
Gameplay mechanics are shifting as well: while the Void Realm itself is closed this year, Void Rifts remain active. Once opened, they become Void Portals that let players teleport across the map for quick escapes or surprise ambushes.
Earnable event rewards include Tricks and Treats Collection Outfits for Shane Wiigwaas and The Hillbilly, Survivor shirts for Sable Ward and Jeff Johansen, and custom masks for The Singularity, The Unknown, and The Trapper.
Rounding out the season, the limited-time Lights Out modifier returns Nov. 5 in time for “Stranger Things” Day. The game mode strips away core HUD elements and casts maps in near-total darkness. The update also brings back The Stranger Things Collection, with highly requested additions, including Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington in their Final Battle Outfits from the series’ finale, while Vecna receives an Outfit inspired by his original Season 4 look.
