Disney Unveils Poster and New Release Date for ‘Maleficent’ Sequel

The Walt Disney Studios has released the poster and a much earlier release date for its sequel to the 2014 film Maleficent.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the sequel to the live action film starring Angelina Jolie, was originally scheduled to be released in May of 2020, but today the studio revealed that the release had been bumped up seven months hitting theaters on October 18, 2019.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will pick up several years after the events in Maleficent and will continue to explore the complex relationship between Maleficent and the soon to be Queen, Aurora, as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
