Dolls Dominate the Weekend Horror News Cycle with Updates from ‘Annabelle’ and ‘Child’s Play’

Yesterday was a big day for fans of horror movies starring dolls as the Orion Pictures reboot of Child’s Play made a major announcement about the voice of Chucky and the next Annabelle film got its first official trailer.

In the world of Child’s Play, it was announced that Mark Hamill would be voicing the demonic Buddi doll in the upcoming reboot of the film. Hamill appeared to panel attendees in a pre-recorded greeting that Hamill later shared on Twitter with the hashtag #SoLuckyImChucky.

“If you’re wondering who’s going to play Chucky in the new Child’s Play,” Hamill said, “you’re looking at him.”

On the Annabelle front, a new trailer for the upcoming sequel Annabelle Comes Home was released by Warner Bros. Pictures and the trailer is a quick reminder to kids to listen to their parents when they’re told not to touch something. In the case of Annabelle not heeding this warning causes all hell to break loose, both figuratively and literally.

The Child’s Play reboot hits theaters on June 21, 2019. Annabelle Comes Home will be released on June 28, 2019.
