This Friday the 13th, indie developer Kyle Banks has announced “Donut Panic,” an anomaly horror game with a cooking sim twist.
Set within a struggling, rundown Scottish diner, players take on the role of the sole night-shift baker. Your task? Fry, decorate, and serve up donuts, fritters, and coffee to a steady stream of late-night patrons. But in the quiet of the early hours, the atmosphere begins to shift.
Not everything is as it seems. Players must keep a close eye on their surroundings—and a closer one on their customers. At the first sign of an anomaly or a disturbing hallucination, you’ll need to abandon the kitchen and retreat to the safety of the panic room. Correctly identifying these hauntings is the only way to survive until dawn.
Between orders, you can explore the diner to uncover the dark secrets behind the loop, which will influence how your story ends. As you progress, you’ll unlock new recipes to keep the business afloat and accessories to bolster your panic room. But be warned: survive the night, or remain trapped in the loop forever.
“Donut Panic” is available to Wishlist now on Steam and is expected to launch later this year.
