First ‘Practical Magic 2’ Trailer Proves the Owens Family Curse is Far From Over

In April, Warner Bros. Pictures gave us our first taste of the return of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as the Owens sisters in “Practical Magic 2.” The initial teaser offered a feel-good look at the return of our favorite family of witches, alongside franchise newcomers Lee Pace (“Foundation”), Maisie Williams (“Game of Thrones”), and Joey King (“The Act”).

Now, the first full trailer reveals exactly what’s at stake in this highly anticipated sequel—and it’s not all midnight margaritas and floating down from rooftops.

The new footage shows that the infamous Owens curse is now targeting the next generation, with Sally’s (Bullock) daughter, Kiley (King), seemingly the first to experience its deadly effects. When Kiley sets out to break the family curse on her own, it pulls her down a dark path. This forces Sally and Gillian (Kidman) to team up with a witchcraft scholar (Pace) on a desperate journey to find Kiley and set things right.

“Practical Magic 2” is directed by Susanne Bier (“Bird Box”) from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett, and Kelly Marcel. The film is based on Alice Hoffman’s novel, “The Book of Magic.”

Look for “Practical Magic 2” exclusively in theaters this September.
