If you’ve spent time on YouTube, particularly in the Halloween animatronics space, you’ve likely come across Miles McCabe, AKA Brick Thunder. The 16-year-old Halloween props enthusiast regularly shares reviews and unboxing videos of his favorite Halloween props and animatronics online, and now, he’s also designing them. HalloweenCostumes.com recently unveiled two new animatronics created through a collaboration with McCabe, which are now available for pre-order for the 2023 Halloween season.

Cain

The first new animatronic is a giant candy-themed clown called Cain. With bloodied candy canes for arms and candy corn piercing through his face, this terrifying clown blends the traditional sweets of Halloween and Christmas as part of a nearly seven-foot-tall nightmare.

When powered on, Cain’s arms swing side-to-side, and his eyes glow as he cackles and says two creepy phrases, including:

  • “I am Cain of the candy clowns, instead of smiles, I leave frowns, although this candy tastes so sweet, the blood you bleed will be a nice treat”
  • “Pick a cane, any cane, one side killer, one side tame, along you’ll go, if you choose right, but failure leads to screams all night.”

The animatronic is available for pre-order now at a discounted rate of $249.99 and is expected to ship in late August. Once in stock and available for regular sale, the price of the new animatronic will go up to $279.99.

Drop Down Clowns

The second animatronic is a hanging decoration that starts as an inconspicuous circus-themed fabric awning that is great for greeting guests at your haunted circus’s entrance. But tucked inside is a pair of creepy clowns who, when approached, drop down to cause a scream! When the clowns drop, they say one of four phrases, including:

  • “Wanna play a game?” followed by maniacal laughter
  • “Hello,” followed by maniacal laughter
  • “Feeling lucky?” followed by maniacal laughter
  • “Peekaboo,” followed by maniacal laughter

The animatronic features mounting hardware to hang on a wall, or it can be hung on a door via the provided hardware and hooks.

McCabe explained in his demo video for the new animatronic that the concept for Drop Down Clowns was born of wanting to do something different. “We always see stuff pop up or pop forward,” McCabe explains in the video. “I wanted to do something different and make it pop down. We have a lot of professional animatronics that do that, and we really don’t see that in retail. So, I did that we these guys, and I think it turned out pretty cool.”

Drop Down Clowns are available for pre-order now for $99.99 and are expected to ship in mid-September. Once in stock and available for regular sale, the price of the new animatronic will go up to $119.99.

The new HalloweenCostumes.com Brick Thunder animatronics are reportedly the first two of three collaborations with the Halloween YouTuber. In his unboxing video of Cain, McCabe shared that a third design is in the works but likely won’t be released until 2024.
