The official trailer for the Southern horror feature “Hellbilly Hollow” has arrived, offering a look inside a real-life Alabama haunted attraction-turned-real-world killing floor ahead of its Sept. 25 theatrical release.
Directed by and co-starring Kevin Wayne, the film follows a team of paranormal YouTubers into the Alabama backwoods on the eve of Halloween. What starts as a routine shoot at a local haunt quickly spirals into a fight for survival when they encounter Tickles, a disfigured clown, and his manipulative brother, Bull. Together, the siblings turn the attraction into a sadistic playground where, one by one, the investigators and local thrill-seekers fall victim to the siblings’ sadistic games.
Shot on location at the actual Hellbilly Hollow haunt in Vincent, Alabama, the film marks the first time the site’s real barn, hayride, and scare zones have been featured in a full-length movie. Wayne conceived the project while directing a commercial on the grounds, envisioning an original slasher hunting victims through the backwoods.
“I’ve wanted to make a horror film for a long time – but not just any horror film,” said Wayne, who also plays Tickles. “With ‘Hellbilly Hollow,’ I saw a chance to tell a true Southern horror story – one that’s sinister and twisted, atmospheric and character-driven, not just reliant on jump scares and gore.”
The cast features Kurt Deimer, Kevin Wayne, Danny Vinson, Sandra Ellis Lafferty, Megan Alexandrea Weaver, Hallie Shepherd, Trey Miller, and Keller Fornes. Deimer and Todd Slater serve as producers, alongside executive producers Michael T. Clarke, Mike Denard, Andy Gould, David Miller, Tim Miller, James Srygley, Wayne, and Brandon Evans.
Atlas Distribution Company brings “Hellbilly Hollow” to select U.S. theaters on Sept. 25.
