“Hold On to Your Vaginas”—Action Packed Second Trailer Arrives for ‘M3GAN 2.0’

On Monday, Blumhouse debuted its second official trailer for “M3GAN 2.0,” the upcoming sequel to the 2022 sci-fi horror “M3GAN.”

Gerard Johnstone returns to direct the sequel, which picks up two years after the first film. M3GAN’s creator, Gemma (Allison Williams), has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of AI. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules.

Unbeknownst to them, a powerful defense contractor has stolen and misused the underlying tech for M3GAN to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans or in keeping them around.

With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal.

The film co-stars returning Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s loyal tech teammates, Cole and Tess, and new characters played by Aristotle Athari (“Saturday Night Live”), Timm Sharp (“Never Fall”), and Jemaine Clement (“What We Do in the Shadows”).

The latest trailer gives us a glimpse of the ramped-up action in the upcoming sequel as M3GAN takes on Amelia, and even showcases Gemma getting in on the action with the help of some new tech.

“M3GAN 2.0” arrives in theaters June 27, 2025.
