Kickstarter Launches for Psychological Horror Adventure ‘Baptiste’

Indie publisher and developer Firenut Games is looking to ramp up the terror for its upcoming first-person psychological horror game, “Baptiste.” Announced earlier this year, the gameโ€”which centers on a mother and son who move into a new home and discover an unsettling doll locked behind glassโ€”is fully funded. However, on October 2, a Kickstarter was launched to try and garner additional funding for things like additional languages, game modes, and a more polished overall experience.

As of this writing, the campaign has reached roughly 40% of its $5,822 goal with 22 days left. Firenut Games stresses that the game will be released regardless of the campaign’s success, but the Kickstarter is the only way to secure some exclusive digital and physical rewards.

“Baptiste” is slated for a launch in early 2026 on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch 2. Support for previous-gen consolesโ€”Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Oneโ€”may also be added if specific campaign stretch goals are met.

Supporters can secure a range of exclusive digital rewards, including a digital art book, a digital original soundtrack, an HD wallpaper set, and a name in the game credits. For those looking for something beyond digital, the physical PlayStation 5 editions offer even more exclusive collectibles:

Standard Edition

  • Physical copy of “Baptiste”
  • Postcard from Rebeca
  • All digital rewards

Collector’s Edition

  • Physical copy of “Baptiste”
  • Copy of the Serenity Ville Journal
  • Postcard from Rebeca
  • Baptiste metal coin
  • USB-cassette with the original soundtrack
  • Full-colour Faustus Daninsky A3 poster
  • Collector’s Box with exclusive artwork
  • All digital rewards

“Baptiste” immerses players in the chilling story of Sara and her son Tom, who, devastated by a family tragedy, seek a fresh start in a mysterious new home. They soon discover a locked cabinet containing an eerie doll named Baptiste, whose blackened eyes seem to follow their every move. What should have been their refuge quickly becomes a nightmare that defies all logic, putting their sanity and will to survive to the ultimate test.

As Sara, players will explore the ominous mansion, investigating documents, photographs, and objects that slowly unveil the dark history of the family and the chilling rituals that sealed their fate. You must solve intricate puzzles, uncover combinations, and decipher hidden messages to progress. The fate of Sara and Tom is in your hands: each decision will shape the game’s storyline. Crucially, players must manage Sara’s sanityโ€”staying calm, seeking sources of light, and using key items is essential, as the lower your sanity drops, the more intense and dangerous the phenomena will become.

The “Baptiste” Kickstarter runs through November 1, 2025. To back the campaign, view all the reward tiers, or find more information, you can visit the official Kickstarter page.
