LEGO IDEAS Creator Behind the Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary Set is Back with a Universal Monsters Concept

Last year a LEGO builder that goes by the name “GoodOlPrice” submitted a LEGO IDEAS concept inspired by The Haunted Mansion at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The concept came extremely close to being made into a reality when it placed in the top 10 product ideas during the Second 2019 LEGO Ideas Review qualifying period. Unfortunately, the mansion was beaten out by a Medieval Blacksmith set and a Winnie the Pooh set, but that hasn’t discouraged GoodOlPrice from trying something new for 2020. This past week, the expert LEGO builder unveiled his new Universal Monsters LEGO IDEAS submission.

The new LEGO concept is inspired by the classic Universal Monsters and features all your favorite characters including Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, Wolf Man, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and The Phantom of the Opera. The monsters are housed in a decrepit old castle full of treasures, secrets, and numerous references to these classic films.

Made of approximately 2,250 bricks, the castle features a grand foyer with a glowing chandelier and secret passageway, a secret lab with special lift function to help bring Frankenstein’s Monster to life, catacombs, a dungeon, a music room, and a bell tower.

At the time of this writing, the set had a total of 78 of the 10,000 supporters needed to make it to the review stage and just under 60 days left in the campaign. If you’re a lover of LEGO and of the Universal Monsters this is definitely something you’re going to want to help support.
