Lowe’s Halloween 2024: Wednesday, Haunted Mansion, and More Teased for Halfway to Halloween

Lowe’s Home Improvement gave Halloween lovers a taste of its 2024 lineup this week in celebration of halfway to Halloween. The home improvement retailer took to social media and shared a video highlighting some of this year’s planned releases, and it even dropped its first release of the season.

The video features over a dozen Halloween props and animatronics, but among the most exciting and prominent were licensed releases from Netflix’s “Wednesday” and “The Addams Family” as well as Disney’s “The Haunted Mansion.”

From “Wednesday,” it appears we’ll be getting a dancing Wednesday animatronic inspired by the iconic dance scene from the first season of the Netflix series. In the background of some of the shots it also appears that we’ll be getting a doll-sized Wednesday playing a cello and some sort of Thing prop.

While referenced but not featured in the Netflix series, fan-favorite “The Addams Family” character, Cousin It, will also be getting an animatronic this Halloween season. The new animatronic appears to bop back and forth while wearing his signature circle shades and bowler hat.

Fans of Disney’s “The Haunted Mansion” attraction will likely have noticed a familiar knight in the video. The decapitated knight, who can be seen in the final moments of the graveyard scene of the Disneyland attraction, will be getting an animatronic this year. Whether he sings “Grim Grinning Ghosts” like in the attraction or does something else is to be determined.

Other Haunted Mansion pieces are flashed briefly in the video, including the iconic attraction sign and a tombstone for Master Gracey.

For non-licensed releases in 2024, Lowe’s appears to be leaning heavily into the maritime theme, with animatronics of a ship’s captain, a deep-sea diver, and a tentacle-spitting pirate-like ghoul. Other highlights appear to be some sort of flaming pilgrim, a skeleton rock band, a couple of witch animatronics, and some kind of headless Victorian-era woman.

Of course, the oversized animatronic trend continues to dominate the Halloween retail season. Home Depot teased the return of its 12-foot skeleton earlier this year and the arrival of a new canine companion. As part of its halfway-to-Halloween celebration, Lowe’s has introduced its first drop for Halloween 2024 with the return of its 12-foot scarecrow.
