“M3GAN 2.0” is now playing in theaters. The sequel to 2022’s “M3GAN” picks up two years later. M3GAN’s creator, Gemma (Allison Williams), is now a prominent author and AI oversight advocate. Her 14-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), is rebelling against Gemma’s strict rules.
Meanwhile, a defense contractor has misused M3GAN’s technology to create Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; “Ahsoka”), a military-grade infiltration spy. As Amelia gains self-awareness, she becomes hostile toward humans.
