Midsummer Scream Makes First Official Panel Announcement — A Chilling Legacy: 50 Years of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion

Remember earlier this month when I speculated that Midsummer Scream had hinted at a Haunted Mansion 50th anniversary panel? Looks like I was right. As their first official panel announcement, the summer Halloween convention announced on social media that on Saturday, August 3, they’d be hosting “A Chilling Legacy: 50 Years of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion.”

The panel celebrating the iconic Disneyland attraction will be moderated by The Season Pass Podcast’s Doub Barnes and feature Disney Legend and “Doom Buggies” designer Bob Gurr, Disney Legend and Imagineer Tony Baxter, The Haunted Mansion Producer Don Hahn, and Haunted Mansion book author Jason Surrell as they discuss the world’s most famous haunted attraction.

In addition to the panel, Midsummer Scream will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion all weekend long with a specially curated area of the show floor called the Corridor of Creepy Creeps. The Saturday Night party Midsummer Scream After Dark has also been deemed “The Grim Grinning Gala” and will feature a screening of The Haunted Mansion with live commentary by producer Don Hahn. The evening will also feature fortunes, food and spirits at “Leota’s Lounge.” More Haunted Mansion fun is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

More details to be posted as they become available!
