Netflix Announces Premiere Dates for ‘Stranger Things’ Three-Part Final Season

UPDATED 6/2/25 @ 2:41 PM PT

On Saturday, Netflix held its annual fan event, Tudum at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, and during the event, “Stranger Things” stars Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp took to the stage to reminisce about the years they’ve spent growing up on the show complete with behind the scenes footage and pre-recorded messages from fellow “Stranger Things” actors Gaten Matarazzo and Millie Bobby Brown. But before the trio left the stage, they had one more video to play for the audience, a date announcement for the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things.”

The video highlights some of the most epic moments from the previous four seasons before revealing that “Stranger Things 5” will be divided into three parts. Volume 1 will premiere on November 26, 2025, at 5 PM PT. Volume 2 will debut on Christmas Day at 5 PM PT, and the show’s finale will premiere on New Year’s Eve at 5 PM PT. The video concludes by showcasing several brief moments from the upcoming season.

Netflix has also shared a complete synopsis of the upcoming season:

โ€œThe fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished โ€” his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Willโ€™s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming โ€” and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything theyโ€™ve faced before. To end this nightmare, theyโ€™ll need everyone โ€” the full party โ€” standing together, one last time.โ€

Tudum is Netflixโ€™s global fan event, named after the iconic sound that plays at the start of every Netflix movie, series, or event. Started in 2020, it is Netflixโ€™s biggest celebration of fandom and culture-defining storytelling โ€” spotlighting movies, shows, stars, and creators that fans around the world love.
