Netflix announced on Thursday that the “Stranger Things” series finale will be released in select theaters later this year.
The two-hour final episode titled “The Rightside Up,” will get a limited theatrical release in more than 350 theaters in the US and Canada beginning December 31, 2025, at 5 p.m. PT โ timed to the finale’s global premiere on Netflix at the same time โ and running through January 1, 2026.
“Getting to see it on the big screen, with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans, feels like the perfect โ dare we say bitchin’ โ way to celebrate the end of this adventure,” said series creators Matt and Ross Duffer in a statement shared with “Tudum.”
Netflix has not shared any additional information about the theatrical releases, but says they will be tied to broader fan events, with more details on how to attend and specific theater locations to be announced at a later date.
The fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” will debut in three volumes on Netflix this fall: four episodes on November 26, three on Christmas, and The Finale on New Year’s Eve. Each volume releases at 5 p.m. PT.
