New ‘Mars Attacks’ ReAction Figures Have Landed from Super7

Earlier this week, the collectible toymaker Super7 released its Remco Tribute Glow-in-the-Dark Monster ReAction Figures, and now they’ve unleashed three new figures inspired by the controversial 1962 “Mars Attacks” trading card series.

Though popularized by the 1996 Tim Burton film of the same name, “Mars Attacks” originated as a series of science fiction-themed trading cards that tell of Earth’s invasion by less than peaceful Martians.

Each figure comes on a cardback featuring the original Topps trading card artwork that inspired the figure. The first wave of figures includes two versions of the Martian and one of their helpless victims.

The first Martian in the series is based on card #1 “The Invasion Begins,” which depicts the Martians’ arrival on Earth. The 3.75” articulated Mars Alien figure comes complete with a deadly ray gun.

The second Martian in this first wave of figures is based on card #36 titled “Destroying A Dog,” which features a boy and his dog, which is being pulverized by a Martian’s deadly ray gun. This 3.75” articulated Mars Alien figure bears a menacing expression and includes a ray gun along with his canine victim.

Finally, Super7 has released a figure inspired by one of the Martian’s hapless victims. Based on card #19 in the series, the Mars Attacks “Burning Flesh” ReAction Figure is a soldier who comes with a melted assault rifle and detail that leaves little doubt as to this hero’s fate.
