Party City Has Shockingly Scary Transformation Ahead of Halloween Season

Party City neon light Halloween logo

Earlier this summer, we got a glimpse of Party City’s Halloween props for 2023, but now the global celebrations retailer has unveiled its plans for this year’s Halloween season. Traditionally known for its bright and cheerful logo and family-friendly assortment, Party City has made a creepy metamorphosis as it explores the depths of its spooky side ahead of the Halloween season. From the newly minted Chop Shop, featuring bloody extremities, to larger-than-life animatronics like the 12-foot Towering Pumpkin Creep, Party City has transformed itself into a shockingly scary one-stop-shop for all things Halloween.

“We are embracing our spooky side this Halloween and introducing an alter ego,” said Odette Welling, VP of Halloween at Party City. “Last year, our scariest, goriest costumes and décor were amongst our top sellers. As more and more consumers immerse themselves in the spookiness of Halloween, we are thrilled to provide innovative and terrifying products to support our customers and all the ways they celebrate this Halloween season.”

Gore is more this year as both décor and costume trends are centered around fright done right. Party City anticipates this Halloween to be the scariest of affairs, with top bone-chilling décor themes to include:

  • Get Axed: Party City is pushing the limits with its very own Chop Shop. This squeamish line of products features accessories and props such as Bloody Weapons Garland, Meat Market Hand, Get Axed Paper Dinner Plates, Bloody Hands Table Cover, Get Axed Beverage Napkins, and more.
  • Creepy Carnival: Not your typical day at the State Fair, this collection of products features the Six-Foot Ice Cream Clown Animatronic, Blacklight Reactive Paper Dinner Plates and Beverage Napkins, and Neon Skulls, Skeletons, and Spiders that will immerse consumers into a nightmarish circus of possessed clowns and their evil cronies.
  • Wicked Haunting: A creepy, crawly take on the traditional orange and black Halloween décor, this season’s Wicked Haunting collection of plates, napkins, and more will leave spines tingling. Complete the look with Yorrik, a five-foot posable skeleton, and other Bone Creatures.
  • Spiderweb Night: Black and white never goes out of style. Halloween enthusiasts can increase the fear factor of any party with the Spiderweb Night-themed tablecloth, napkins, and plate sets, a Seven-Foot Light Up Hairy Black Spider that is sure to scare, and more.

Party City will release a series of shoppable scary porch cam videos later this week to fuel inspiration for the frightening fun to be had this Halloween. These videos will entertain, shock, and challenge viewers to scare their friends, neighbors, or delivery drivers using Party City costumes, props, and animatronics for a chance to win the ultimate bragging rights—and the Halloween party of their nightmares. Videos posted between Friday, September 15 – Sunday, October 29, using the hashtag #DareToScare and tagging @PartyCity, will automatically be entered to win an epic Halloween party valued at $10,000. Voting will take place on Monday, October 30, and the winner will be crowned on Halloween.
