Pitch-Black Ice Cream Is Back: Cold Stone Conjures ‘Boo Batter’ Lineup for Halloween

Witches' Boo Shake, Treat or Treat Creation, and Boo Batter Ice Cream Taco

The Boo is back! Cold Stone Creamery has announced the return of its pitch-black Boo Batter Ice Cream to lead its 2026 Halloween lineup.

The jet-black dessert—which transforms the brand’s signature sweet Cake Batter flavor into a ghastly dark treat—returns alongside a full menu of limited-edition Halloween creations available through Oct. 31.

Heading the spooky lineup is the Treat or Treat Creation, which combines the midnight-hued Boo Batter with crushed Halloween Oreo cookies, Kit Kat pieces, and M&M’s to mimic an entire Halloween candy haul in a single scoop.

For those looking for a treat you can sip on the go, Cold Stone introduces Witches’ Boo Shake, blending Boo Batter Ice Cream, Halloween Oreo Cookies, whipped topping, and spooky sprinkles.

The chain is also bringing back its Halloween-themed handheld dessert: the Boo Batter Ice Cream Taco. The treat features a scoop of Boo Batter tucked inside a bright orange waffle shell, dipped in chocolate, and finished with festive sprinkles.

“Boo Batter has become a fun tradition that our guests look forward to each year,” said Courtney Maxedon, vice president of marketing and digital strategy at Kahala Brands, parent company of Cold Stone Creamery. “This lineup serves as a way to enjoy the excitement of Halloween.”

The limited-time Halloween menu is available now at Cold Stone Creamery locations nationwide through Halloween, while supplies last.
