The world of “Stranger Things” was built around a game of Dungeons & Dragons. The series kicked off with a game of D&D that foreshadowed the events that would play out in season one. Themes and characters from the game are constantly referenced and both baddies from the show are nicknamed after D&D characters, first the Demogorgon and then the Mind Flayer. So it seems only fitting that later this year Hasbro will be releasing an official Stranger Things Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set.
Set to be released on May 1, 2019, the “Stranger Things” themed Dungeons & Dragons comes with everything you need to get the roleplaying game started including detailed rules, adventure book, game dice, “Stranger Things” character sheets, and two Demogorgon figures based on the show’s monster, including one that players can paint and customize.
In the game, players can embark on the hunt for the Thessalhydra, “created” by the character Mike from the Netflix original series. The game is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $24.99.
