Indie developer Buzzin’ Games has announced its debut title, Rock, Paper, Severed, a dark, horror-infused reimagining of the classic hand game where every decision carries a gruesome cost.
At its core, Rock, Paper, Severed is deceptively simple: sit at the table, play Rock, Paper, Scissors, and try to win. But in this twisted version, losing doesn’t just mean defeat; it means sacrifice. Each wrong move costs players a finger, raising the stakes with every round in a tense battle of strategy, nerve, and survival.
Presiding over the table is the mysterious Entity, a shadowy host offering players a chance at absolution. Players can choose from a cast of condemned characters, each harboring their own dark secrets and reasons for playing. While the promise of wiping away their sins draws them in, leaving is a different story. As matches unfold, fragments of the characters’ pasts begin to surface, revealing the true, horrifying cost of the game.
The psychological torment isn’t just a solo experience, either. Players can take on the Entity alone or go head-to-head in brutal multiplayer matches for up to four players where only one person walks away whole.
