ScareLA Announces Roster of “Famous Monsters” As Part of 2018 Featured Lineup

ScareLA has just released another round of updates regarding this year’s convention.  Last week the “Summerween” convention announced four full-sized mazes coming to this year’s event and now they have released their first round of guests who will be in attendance for 2018.  Highlights include George C. Romero, Linda Blair, and Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights’ John Murdy.

George C. Romero, son of horror icon George A. Romero, who produced the 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead, will be on hand to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of his father’s film.  On Saturday, August 25, Romero will hit the stage to reflect on his dark heritage and his plans for the future.  He will also be on hand both days doing signings.

Actress Linda Blair, who is best known for her role as Regan in The Exorcist films will be on the ScareLA show floor on both Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26 to meet with fans and will share her story on the ScareLA Monster Stage on Sunday afternoon August 26.

Creative Director of Universal Studios’ Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights, John Murdy will also be on hand for 2018 and will be joined by Art Director Chris Williams as they reveal a new maze coming to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights this fall.  Murdy of course “accidentally” made a reveal about this year’s Halloween Horror Nights during the closing presentation at this year’s Midsummer Scream, so let’s hope he has something else up his sleeve.

ScareLA will also host makeup artist Ve Neill for a special presentation titled “From Batman to Beetlejuice (Retrospective)” on Saturday, August 25.  During the presentation, the Oscar-winning makeup artist who worked on projects like Beetlejuice, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, The Shining, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, and Tim Burton’s Batman, will hold an audience Q&A covering the span of her career.  She will also be on hand both days to meet with fans.

Finally, Vander Von Odd, who was crowned the World’s First Drag Supermonster during the first season of The Boulet Brothers’ “DRAGULA,” will play host and master of scare-emonies on the ScareLA 2018 Main Stage with her bestie Pinche.
