Collectibles maker Sideshow debuted two new figures on Thursday with its new Frankenstein Premium Format Figure and the Frankenstein Premium Format Mixed Media Figure. Each figure pays tribute to the classic Universal Monster and was created in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences.
The Frankenstein Premium Format Figure is a full-color, quarter-scale statue that pays homage to Boris Karloff’s iconic performance as Frankenstein’s Monster in Universal Pictures’ 1931 classic “Frankenstein.” The figure stands 22.5 inches tall and comes with two distinct portraits—a neutral-expression head and an emotive, grimacing head—which can be swapped at the neckline.
The figure stands framed by the walls of his master’s castle, the environment sculpture recreating the uneven stone walls and dilapidated wood floors of the mad doctor’s domain. This high-end collectible also includes a pair of shackles as accessories, which can be placed along the base or attached to the figure’s wrists for additional display options.
For those looking for an even more realistic portrayal of the monster, consider the Frankenstein Premium Format Mixed Media figure, which features real fabric costuming paired with sculptural elements.
Also in quarter-scale, this Frankenstein’s Monster comes outfitted in a custom-tailored suit consisting of a black buttoned jacket, an undershirt, and pants. The Premium Format Mixed Media figure includes all the same accessories as the standard version, including two distinct portraits — allowing collectors to switch between a neutral expression and a grimacing one — and a pair of shackles.
