Carrying the name of horror’s most infamous slasher is finally paying off—at least if you are 21 or older and thirsty for IPA.
Voodoo Ranger has launched its “Slasher Manhunt,” searching nationwide for adults legally named Michael Myers. The prize? Cash for a year’s supply of Voodoo Ranger beer and a free copy of Halloween: The Game.
The campaign culminates Oct. 7 with the “Party Without Fear” event at Ray’s bar on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Real-life Michael Myerses who present a valid ID at the door will receive a special reward. Attendees can also sample Slasher IPA—a limited-edition collaboration brew created for the game launch—alongside hands-on game demos and exclusive giveaways.
“Being named Michael Myers has come with enough baggage, so we’re here with the beer,” said Kiron Chakraborty, Voodoo Ranger’s marketing director. “We’re rewarding real Michael Myerses with a year’s supply of Voodoo Ranger because Halloween deserves to be celebrated, not endured.”
Slasher IPA is available exclusively in Voodoo Ranger’s seasonal Hoppy Pack, which has quickly become the brand’s fastest-selling variety pack of 2026. As with most limited releases from the craft brewery, the brew will disappear once current stock sells out.
Voodoo Ranger will profile select winning Michaels on Oct. 19, coinciding with the fictional killer’s birthday in franchise lore.
