‘Stranger Things VR’ Gets New Gameplay Trailer and Release Date

On Monday, as part of Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things Day’ celebration, “Stranger Things VR,” the new “Stranger Things” virtual reality experience announced during Stranger Things Day 2022, got a new gameplay trailer and official release date on Meta Quest. The new “Stranger Things” VR experience will arrive on the Meta Quest on November 30 and lets players take on the role of “Stranger Things 4” villain Vecna.

The latest gameplay trailer seems to focus more on Henry Creel’s time in the Upside Down before becoming Vecna and opens up during his first moments in the Upside Down after being sent there at the hands of Eleven. The previous gameplay trailer focused more on the game’s combat elements and showed more Vecna-like experiences. In contrast, this trailer seemed to focus more on Creel’s interactions with the Upside Down as it morphs into some of his most haunting memories, driving him to madness and to become Vecna.

The new trailer also confirms the involvement of Jamie Campbell Bower and Matthew Modine in the game, who each voice their characters from the series as Henry Creel/Vecna and Dr. Brenner, respectively.

This new VR experience will give players a different perspective of past seasons of “Stranger Things” as they invade the dreams and memories of fan-favorite characters like Will Byers and Billy Hargrove as you manipulate them to do your bidding. Players will even have the chance to relive memories from Henry Creel’s time at Hawkins Lab with Dr. Brenner.

“Stranger Things VR” is developed by Tender Claws and based on the hit Netflix series. The game is currently available for pre-order at a discounted price of $26.99 and is expected to arrive this fall.
