Jon Harris’s 2009 sequel to “The Descent” has made its way onto 4K for the first time in the US and is available starting today, Aug. 11. The release arrives as a Lionsgate Limited Steelbook set, bundled with Blu-ray and Digital copies.
Picking up immediately after the claustrophobic events of Neil Marshall’s original cult classic, the sequel finds a dazed, bloodied Sarah (Shauna Macdonald) emerging alone from the Appalachian cave system. Traumatized and suffering from amnesia, she is forced back underground by a local sheriff to help a rescue crew search for her missing companions. As her memory fractures fade, Sarah realizes she has led the team directly into the hunting grounds of a new, even more feral tribe of flesh-eating crawlers.
The collectible Steelbook packaging features custom artwork by Matt Ryan Tobin and packs an array of legacy bonus features alongside a new, exclusive Lionsgate Limited extra.
