Two years after what was supposed to be “The Final Chapter,” horror creative Sean Keller is bringing his cult-favorite audio project back from the dead. Released Tuesday, “The Killer Sounds of Halloween Rises from the Grave” delivers 19 original tracks crafted as the ultimate seasonal mixtape.
Debuting in 2019, the “The Killer Sounds of Halloween” series has built a loyal following across four previous installments. Each concept album plays like a mixtape, featuring original genre-bending tunes from fictitious bands, “lost” horror film trailers, and tongue-in-cheek Halloween radio commercials—all written and conceptualized by Keller.

Co-produced alongside his son, Folsom, the fifth album features guest performances from notable actors, authors, and filmmakers across the horror community, including Ryan Lambert (“The Monster Squad”), director Chelsea Stardust (“Satanic Panic”), author Mallory O’Meara (“The Lady from the Black Lagoon”), and Fangoria Digital Managing Editor BJ Colangelo.
Keller pushes the series into fresh musical territory this time around, with standout tracks including “Bump in the Night,” Keller’s first-ever foray into 1990s-style boy band pop (performed by the fictitious group LVLUP), alongside “Transylvania High,” a nostalgic TV theme song paying homage to Saturday morning sitcoms like “Saved by the Bell.” The album also ventures into nautical folk with “The Thing from the Briny Deep,” a high-seas shanty performed by Red Whately & the Mutineers.
