VR Reimagining of ‘Evil Inside’ Sets May 7 Launch

Jandusoft, in collaboration with virtual reality studio Bowl of Tentacles, has announced that “Evil Inside VR” will bring its brand of psychological horror to PlayStation VR2 and Meta Quest 3 on May 7, 2026.

“Evil Inside VR” is far from a standard port. Jandusoft describes the project as a ground-up reinterpretation designed to exploit the strengths of virtual reality. Beyond the controls, the VR edition features an immersive, disturbing soundscape and a darker, more realistic atmosphere to keep players in a state of constant, suffocating tension. Even the narrative and puzzles have been tweaked, ensuring that both newcomers and returning players find fresh nightmares waiting in the shadows.

The original “Evil Inside” launched in 2021. The first-person psychological horror game has players take on the role of teenager Mark, who, after the death of his mother and the arrest of his father in connection with her death, tries to make contact with her through the use of a spirit board. When the board explodes mysteriously and causes Mark to fade away, players must then try to find the fragments of the board strewn across the house and uncover the truth about his mother’s death. As Mark explores his shifting home, the environment itself becomes an adversary. With the VR release, the spirit board incident and the ensuing paranormal torment aim to provide a more intimate, tactile level of dread.

“Evil Inside VR” is now available for pre-order on Meta Quest 3 for $11.99 and is available to Wishlist on PlayStation VR2.
