[WATCH] ‘Edward Scissorhands’ Gets a Mini-Sequel in Cadillac Super Bowl Spot Starring Winona Ryder and Timothée Chalamet

Winona Ryder as Kim Boggs and Timothée Chalamet as Edgar Scissorhands in Cadillac Super Bowl spot

31 years after the release of Edward Scissorhands, the film has gotten a sequel…Well, sorta. A Super Bowl spot for Cadillac’s LYRIQ features Winona Ryder reprising the role of Kim Boggs from the film with Timothée Chalamet playing her son Edgar, the offspring of the film’s namesake that Johnny Depp portrayed.

The minute and a half spot finds Edgar, who also has scissors for hands, doing his best to live as a normal member of society, but like his father before him, having scissors for hands can make that a bit difficult.

So how does Cadillac come into this mix? Well, when the young Scissorhands finds it harder and harder to get around town, his mom gifts him with a Cadillac LYRIQ, the all-electric vehicle with high-tech hands-free assistance.
