‘Who’s Watching’: Tim Kasher’s Unsettling Surveillance Horror Lands U.S. Digital & Theatrical Dates

Dark Sky Films will release the psychological horror thriller “Who’s Watching” on digital platforms on Sept. 18, arriving at the Roxy Cinema in New York City and Laemmle’s Glendale in Los Angeles the same day. Written and directed by musician-turned-filmmaker Tim Kasher (frontman of Cursive and The Good Life), the film turns the camera on intense obsession, surveillance, and paranoia.

Ahead of its September debut, Kasher will take the film on a nationwide theatrical preview tour featuring advance screenings, Q&A sessions, and intimate acoustic sets.

The film stars Zachary Ray Sherman (“A Desert”) as Caleb, an eccentric musician who becomes dangerously obsessed with his new co-worker, Krista (Gracie Gillam, “Superhost”). As Caleb secretly documents her life to make her the subject of his latest film, the lines between observer and participant begin to blur, pulling him deeper into a dangerous spiral of surveillance, manipulation, and obsession. As the cameras keep rolling, the question becomes increasingly unsettling: who is really watching who?

The thriller also stars Olivia Luccardi (“It Follows”) and Steve Berg (“Don’t Worry Darling”).

“Tim Kasher has spent his career exploring relationships and the darker corners of human behavior through his music, and ‘Who’s Watching’ brings those same themes to the screen in a deeply unsettling way,” said Greg Newman, Executive Vice President of Dark Sky Films. “Anchored by Zachary Ray Sherman’s extraordinary performance, it’s a smart, provocative thriller that lingers long after it ends.”

Kasher, who also fronts the indie rock bands Cursive and The Good Life, will embark on a “Who’s Watching” roadshow of special theatrical preview events. Each event will feature an advance screening of the film followed by a short acoustic set and Q&A with Kasher.
